Job Overview
Commander Automation, a leading provider of electrical and automation services in the oil and gas industry, is seeking a Texas Journeyman Electrician with proven experience in upstream facility construction. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial electrical work and be capable of working in fast-paced, remote environments with a focus on safety, quality, and productivity.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment in oil and gas production facilities.
- Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics.
- Perform cable tray installation, conduit bending (EMT, Rigid), cable pulling, and terminations.
- Install and wire MCCs, VFDs, control panels, lighting, motors, and other industrial components.
- Ensure work complies with NEC, local codes, and safety regulations.
- Work closely with foremen, project managers, and instrumentation/automation teams.
- Perform pre-commissioning, loop checks, and functional testing.
- Maintain detailed documentation and job site cleanliness.
- Valid Texas Journeyman Electrician license
- Minimum 3–5 years of industrial electrical experience, preferably in upstream oil and gas.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and P&IDs.
- Familiar with hazardous area classifications and explosion-proof equipment.
- Must be willing to work in remote locations, including occasional overtime, weekends, and travel.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
