We are currently seeking a facility manager to join our team at our Columbus, TX testing facility. This position will support the Testing Manager in the day-to-day operations in the testing facility.
- Oversee day-to-day facility operations to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable functioning of all systems and services.
- Manage logistics related to facility operations, including materials, equipment, and vendor coordination.
- Identify, plan, and implement facility improvements, upgrades, and preventive maintenance initiatives.
- Recruit, hire, train, and supervise facility technicians and maintenance staff.
- Develop and manage work schedules to ensure adequate coverage for maintenance, repairs, and operational needs.
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors for repair work, capital projects, and service agreements.
- Monitor and control facility-related budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, health, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, repairs, and compliance documentation.
- Continuously assess facility performance and implement strategies to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for facility-related issues and respond to emergencies as required.- 10+ years of progressive experience in facilities operations, building maintenance, oil and gas, or manufacturing industries.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and security.
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations (e.g., OSHA, ADA compliance).
- Proven ability to manage budgets, control costs, and oversee vendor/service contracts.
- Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and building management software.
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing facility, testing, or maintenance teams.
- Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering facility upgrades, renovations, or relocations.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze problems, develop solutions, and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Willingness to be on-call and respond to after-hours emergencies as required.
- Physical ability to conduct facility inspections, including walking, climbing, and occasional lifting.
- Professional certifications (e.g., IFMA’s CFM, FMP, OSHA Safety) strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to manage large-scale facility projects such as expansions, relocations, or major renovations.
- Strong vendor management and contract negotiation skills.
- Strong change management skills and ability to implement new processes smoothly.
- Experience in multi-site facility management.
- Working knowledge of workplace security systems and emergency preparedness planning.
