We are looking for a skilled Test Technician to join our production team. In this role, you will help test, troubleshoot, and prepare electrical control and distribution equipment before it is delivered to customers. You’ll work closely with senior technicians to ensure our products meet quality standards and function safely and reliably.
Schedule: Monday–Thursday 6:00 AM–4:45 PM, Friday 6:00 AM–2:00 PM, occasional Saturdays and overtime as needed
Relocation: This position is 100%o onsite at our location in Belle Chasse, LA with no relocation assistance provided
- Test and troubleshoot low, medium, and arc-resistant switchgear and other electrical control equipment.
- Use tools like voltmeters, multimeters, and other electrical testing equipment.
- Perform safety checks such as HIPOT tests and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Follow engineering drawings and schematics to verify equipment functions correctly.
- Assist with factory acceptance tests (FAT) to ensure compliance with industry standards (IEEE, ANSI, ABS).
- Help identify and fix any defects before products are shipped to customers.
- Support senior technicians with client witness tests and product demonstrations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- High School Diploma or GED, required.
- 2+ years as a Wireman 1st Class or in electrical/mechanical troubleshooting, required.- Ability to read and understand schematics and technical drawings.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable using hand tools, testing devices, and computers.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willing to follow safety guidelines and quality procedures.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as standing, kneeling, bending, and reaching.
- Comfortable working in manufacturing environments with heat, humidity, and occasional exposure to chemicals, electrical hazards, or moving parts.
- Overtime may be required to meet production deadlines.
