As an Electrical Testing Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of medium to high voltage electrical equipment. - Perform preventative maintenance and electrical testing services on medium to high voltage equipment, including switchgear, motor control centers, generators, circuit breakers, protective relays, ground fault systems, VFDs, ATS, and transformers.
- Inspect electrical components such as housings, grounding, bushings, oil levels, cooling fans, pumps, vibrations, air movement, noise levels, anchors, radiator fins, ground resistors, tap change settings, and asset labeling.
- Record and document key data including temperatures, gauge readings, pressure/vacuum levels, nitrogen levels, and load tap changer status.
- Conduct cleaning, resistance and insulation testing, circuit breaker operations, voltage pick-up tests, and verification of test data compliance.
- Perform functional tests on relays, meters, analog and digital inputs/outputs, and ensure proper operation of safety and control systems.
- Prepare detailed reports of findings and communicate results to customers and team members.
- Travel to customer sites as required, including after-hours or weekend work when necessary.
- Deliver a high level of customer service and support throughout all assignments.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical field services and testing, preferably in industrial or utility environments.
- Preferred certifications: NETA Level 3, DOBLE or MEGGER Training, Infrared Thermography.
- Additional certifications such as Mining MSHA, Phosphate, and OSHA 30 are preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge of medium to high voltage electrical equipment and testing procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail, documentation, and reporting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a field environment.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as needed.
Hourly pay: $20.00 - $50.00 per hour
