Technician, Electrical

The Maintenance Technician, Electrical reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor, Electrical and is a member of the multi-disciplined crew responsible for all maintenance activities of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) import, export and regasification terminal. Dedication, sensitivity to safety issues and compliance with policies and procedures are essential for the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the terminal.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Knowledge:

Understands plant surroundings and can identify relevant equipment. Understands the physical properties of LNG. Possess basic knowledge of safe handling practices, governmental regulations, and related technical and safety codes, standards, and reporting requirements. Knowledgeable of plant rules and guidelines regarding relevant equipment operations and certification requirements. In-depth knowledge of plant maintenance protocols and equipment diagnostics.

Skills:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education, Training and Certifications : High School diploma or equivalent is required. Formal education in related technical or engineering discipline or related military training/experience is desirable. Required to obtain mandated certification by attending Company-sponsored training in basic first aid, CPR, and LNG firefighting.

Craft Skill: Must be able to obtain electrical qualifications in both High and Low Voltage NFPA 70E.

Experience : 0-7 years of relevant work experience or equivalent time worked in an industrial or military setting is required. Experience in LNG or other petrochemical, refinery, cryogenic industry is a plus.
