- Provide technical support for TETRA product lines
- Develop high understanding of TETRA’s and competitor’s products and their applications
- Manage Technical Service projects
- Work with Research & Development group to develop technical services support for new products
- Conduct research with the objective of developing and qualifying newly formulated, high-performance fluids or additives
- Interface with technology experts from customers, chemical manufacturers, additive suppliers, universities, and independent subject matter experts
- Develop and utilize testing and analysis methods to determine the suitability of candidate materials
- Prepare test solutions and reagents for laboratory use
- Ensure that all chemicals’ reagents and flammable material are stored in accordance with the allowable storage quantity and condition requirements
- Store finished product samples according to shelf life/ retention period requirement
- Conduct examinations to quantify performance or determine performance improvement opportunities
- Record all test results, prepare quality reports, and generate COA for tested products
- Prepare reports and presentations for project reviews with team members, management, and customers
- Perform periodic calibrations or verifications of laboratory instruments and equipment
- Serve on industry committees and attend relevant technical meetings as needed and as appropriate
- Keep supervision and management advised of work status, workload, problems, and progress as related to work assignments
- Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) demonstrate a personal commitment to HSEQ and adhere to all relevant international regulations/norms/standard for HSEQ
- Maintain and perform calibrations on testing equipment and keep records according to ISO 9001
- Maintain workspace cleanliness and organization according to 5S agreement
- Complete JSEA’s and MOC’s and revise test methods as required
- Advocate TETRA HSE Management and Quality Systems, and where appropriate client company’s quality, health, safety & environment management systems
- EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Geology, Chemical or Petroleum Engineering
- EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience. Preferred background includes work with completion fluids, drill-in fluids, corrosion mitigation, formation damage prevention, and fluid loss control.
