Overview
The primary responsibility of this position is to provide safety support to field employees. This includes conducting frequent safety field observations while evaluating safe work practices and rules. Additionally, this position will provide the technical expertise to give feedback to front line employees on the safe execution of work procedures. This position will also support safety committees, facilitating incident investigation, and other operational needs as appropriate.
Position will be filled at the successful candidate's level of education and experience.
Will be flexible with the reports to location.
Responsibilities
- Support supervisors, foreman, and others to evaluate work practices and determine safe methods. Serve as the technical subject matter expert (SME) to ensure all workers fully understand safety rules and work procedures.
- Conduct field observations, audits and provide feedback to crews and business lines.
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Support incident investigations.
- Participate and/or facilitate safety related working groups to ensure all solutions to issues adhere to Electric Utilities safety rules, procedures, and policies.
- Support safety committees through attendance at committee meetings and effectively bridge communications between employees and Safety Operations. Effectively communicate recent safety messages to the field and communicate safety concerns back to Safety Operations.

- Provide technical specific guidance to the field and support Tool and Equipment process as a SME
- Collaborate between departments, such as operations and engineering, to address safety concerns.
- Support development and communication of safety topics
- Provide safety guidance/training for frontline leaders
- Work closely with safety/sr. safety pro peers for training and support.
- All positions in which driving is an essential function of the job, regardless if the job code is marked safety sensitive or not, will also be included as safety sensitive.
- May be assigned an Electric Utilities emergency and storm role. This is a special assignment that comes into play during storms and other emergencies when the company needs to restore power or respond to other issues affecting customer service. This role may necessitate the need to work after-hours, outside of your normal schedule.

In the case of remote work, physical presence in the office/on-site may be required to engage in face-to-face interaction and coordination of work among direct reports and co-workers.

Qualifications
Required EducationHigh School Diploma or GED
Required Experience 5+ years Electric Utility Operations experience 3 years as a Journeyperson (OH, UG, Substation, LTN, Metering or Support functions, etc.)
