Supporting our Project Delivery team, the Technical Project Manager will provide technical support of wind, solar, and BESS projects during mid to late-stage development. You will collaborate with internal support roles and lead external consultants to ensure successful project delivery.
- Lead the review and approval process of all phases of project engineering designs, including civil, structural, collection, substation, transmission, and SCADA design.
- Build and maintain a strong working relationship with the Owner's Engineer (OE), EPCs, and equipment suppliers. The Technical Project Manager will serve as the primary technical liaison between these third parties and project team.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, design improvements/optimization, or schedule efficiency in early stages of project design and throughout project construction.
- Track technical changes, design status, and risks for each project. Work with project managers to provide updates to leadership that clearly identify progress, potential risks, and any financial or timeline changes.
- Develop technical specifications and project requirements that inform EPC scope of work, equipment selection, and operations and maintenance plans. Requirements will be based on industry standards, interconnection/utility requirements, permit requirements and any local codes/standards
- Inform and audit supplier scopes of work, exclusions, and engineering documentation provided throughout all stages of supplier contracting.
- Support pre-construction site visits with contractors and equipment suppliers.
- Assist team with interconnection process by providing generator inputs required for interconnection modeling, reviewing grid and electrical studies, and ensure project compliance to grid/utility requirements.
- Partner with the Development Engineering Manager to support any technical studies performed at early-stage projects and transition project ownership when project delivery stage gate is achieved.

You have meaningful experience in the renewable energy industry with a strong understanding of technical fatal flaws, site design, project construction, and optimization. You’re commercially minded and eager to collaborate cross-functionally to find creative solutions to technical challenges.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience within design, project management, or construction of utility scale renewable energy projects, specifically wind projects
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other technical discipline
- Proven multi-tasker, with the ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities in parallel, and delegate to external resources
- Ability to distill and disseminate key project information to multiple internal and external stakeholders across cross-functional teams
- Experience learning technical concepts on the job, with a demonstrated ability to apply new knowledge to managing engineering deliverables and technical requirements for projects
- Creative and commercially focused with examples of out-of-the-box solutions to “impossible” technical hurdles with proven successes
- Understanding of the IBC, ASCE, NEC, NESC, ASTM, relevant electrical codes and standards is preferred
- Strong understanding of multiple US Power Markets, direct experience in WECC preferred
- Technically proficient in AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and other applicable software design packages
- Willingness to travel up to 35% of the time
- Must have a valid current driver's license and be able to travel and perform field work.
The salary range for this role is $100,000-$150,000 with a 20% target bonus. This range is an estimate, and offered salary will be based on several factors including but not limited to location, work experience, certifications, and education.
