Job Summary: Lawyer Excavation seeks a highly motivated and experienced Site Surveyor to play a crucial role in the successful execution of our construction and infrastructure projects. This position will be responsible for conducting accurate site surveys, and interpreting plans.

Responsibilities:
•Conduct precise site surveys using various surveying instruments and techniques (e.g., total stations, GPS, levels).
•Establish and maintain control points, benchmarks, and other survey markers.
•Interpret blueprints, site plans, and engineering drawings to determine layout and elevations.
•Calculate and record survey data accurately.
•Prepare detailed survey reports, sketches, and topographic maps.
•Oversee and participate in the layout of project elements, including but not limited to foundations, utilities, roadways, and structures.
•Ensure proper care and maintenance of surveying equipment and tools.
•Assist with problem-solving and troubleshooting on site.
Skills:
•Technical Surveying Skills: Proficient in operating and maintaining various surveying equipment (total stations, GPS/GNSS receivers, levels, data collectors).
•Data Processing & Software: Experience with surveying software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, Leica Geo Office) for data processing, analysis, and report generation.
•Blueprint Reading: Ability to accurately interpret and understand complex blueprints, site plans, and engineering drawings.
•As-Builts / Red-line drawings: create or utilize red-line drawings, which are marked-up construction plans showing deviations from the original design, to accurately document as-built conditions on a project site.
•Mathematical Skills: Strong mathematical skills, including trigonometry, geometry, and algebra, for accurate calculations.
•Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members, project managers, and clients.
•Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve issues that may arise on the job site.
•Organization & Time Management: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
•Safety Awareness: Thorough understanding of and commitment to safety regulations and best practices in the field.
•Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all surveying and layout work.
•Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
•Computer Literacy: Proficient in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
Experience:
•Minimum 2-4 years of experience in land surveying, with demonstrated experience in site layout and field supervision.
•Experience in construction, commercial development, utility infrastructure.
Prior experience as a Foreman or in a lead role managing field crews is highly preferred*. Our ideal candidate would provide leadership and direction to field crews to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical surveying skills, proven leadership abilities, and a commitment to quality and efficiency
Education:
•High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
•Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field is preferred.
•Relevant certifications (e.g., CST - Certified Survey Technician) are a plus.
Licenses/Certifications:
•Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
Physical Requirements:
•Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment.
•Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
•Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
•Ability to navigate uneven terrain.
