TITLE: SUPERVISOR, T&D CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING & PLANNING
REPORTS TO: MANAGER, TRANSMISSION & DISTRIBUTION CONSTRUCTION

Under the general direction of the Program Manager, Transmission & Distribution, this position is responsible for providing the leadership, mentoring, training, scheduling, and guidance to a team of T&D Engineers and Construction Planners for the proper design, layout, and permitting of transmission and distribution lines.
- Provides and assures the supervision for, and training of, T&D Engineers and Construction Planners to oversee their ability to design and plan safe, efficient, and reliable power delivery, and to ensure compliance with electrical codes and regulations, MDOT standards, and Versant Power’s design standards.
- Ensures work is aligned with departmental and organizational goals.
- Participates in the scheduling of Engineers and Planners to meet construction projects’ schedules. Adjust resource allocations as needed.
- Collaborates closely with the Asset Management Department to assure clarity of project goals, scopes, and cost.
- Provides regular updates to the Program Manager, other upper management, and the Real Estate Department.
- Responsible for coordinating and scheduling engineering and planning resources for capital projects.
- Applies knowledge of electrical and civil engineering principles and practices.
- Develops and implements processes to improve efficiency and productivity amongst engineers and planners.
- Participates in, and supports efforts, to develop company-wide design and construction standards.
- Provides support and direction in troubleshooting designs and plans.
- Maintains a working relationship with various departments to coordinate the interest of all parties concerned. Assures close collaboration between engineers and planners with Project Managers, Real Estate, Vegetation and others.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate team performance and provide constructive feedback.

Performs other related duties as assigned, including designated duties associated with System Restoration (storm).
REQUIRED OR PREFERRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field required.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or project role.
- Demonstrated experience in project management and engineering supervision.
- Proficient in PC-based software, including spreadsheets, databases, computer aided drafting (CAD), and engineering applications.
- Strong knowledge of applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Critical thinking skills and a data-driven approach to decision making.
- Valid Maine driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Position requires identity verification and seven-year criminal background check, with updates at least every seven years in accordance with NERC standards.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and drive as required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 Lbs.
- Regularly required to work in outdoor weather conditions.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication skills – both oral and written.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- Ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities in a dynamic work environment.
- Valid Maine driver’s license.
- Availability to work extra and irregular hours as needed.

Usual work hours are between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Working between 40-50 hours is expected.
