BlueScope Recycling is a full-service, ferrous scrap metal recycler with processing facilities in Waterloo, IN, Delta, OH, and Mansfield, OH. BlueScope Recycling buys scrap from industrial generators, wholesale suppliers, and the general public, focusing on delivering the highest level of service.

Summary:

The Supply Chain and Operations Planning Lead will be responsible for the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) function of the organization, with a strong focus on developing processes to optimize inventory to maximize profitability. This position will be responsible for developing the processes and providing insights to drive the optimal margins profile in scrap purchases.

Duties And Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

- Develop tools that will supply the business with the ability to analyze supply chain data, including route performance, demand forecasts, transportation costs, trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement to maximize margin.

- Developing and maintaining supply chain models and metrics to evaluate performance

- Drive the planning process for inbound, outbound, and logistics cross-functionally, including Finance (FP&A), commercial, logistics, and operations for planning (long-range plan, budgeting, forecasting) that will lead to margin maximization

- Identify areas of opportunity in financial performance and conduct evaluations to ensure compliance with quality standards

- Develop, prepare and present reports and recommendations to senior management, highlighting key findings, and proposing solutions for supply chain optimization

- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline supply chain processes and reduce costs while maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction

- Identify risk and ensure accountable action plans are in place to mitigate

- Conduct ad-hoc analysis and special projects to support business initiatives and strategic priorities

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

- 8+ years of progressive finance experience.

- Extensive experience in forecasting, management reporting, and financial performance.

- Strong business acumen and analytical skills.

- Solid written and oral communication skills.

- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint, etc.
