Overview
Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) will lead and execute advanced quality assurance activities related to supplier development, incoming quality control, and warranty root cause analysis. This role is vital to ensuring robust supplier performance, supporting new product /vendor launches, managing change points, and resolving customer warranty claims.
- Lead supplier activities and new vendor launches.
- Manage / Develop supplier performance through structured scorecards, audits, and escalation processes.
- Conduct onsite and remote process audits using developed quality guidelines, including layered process audits and system audits.
- Visit Suppliers to proactively see their processes, document improvement needs and get definite corrective action initiated.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 3 years in Supplier Quality Engineering.
- Proven experience in quality engineering or a similar role within manufacturing or supply chain environments.
- Experience in metal stamped parts and assemblies
- Proficiency in process engineering concepts and methodologies.
- Excellent analytical skills for effective Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to evaluating supplier capabilities.
- Familiarity with sourcing strategies and supply chain management principles.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.
