The Fabrication Shift Supervisor reviews production orders and schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan shift fabrication operations.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Prior leadership experience required.
- Must read and understand quality system operating procedures relevant to DMR, corrective action and preventive action.
- Must read and understand all work and safety instructions relevant to their area of responsibility.
- Assures >90% of standard rate for each process.
- Reviews production reports and resolves shift operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
- Drives downstream scrap reduction (<5%) by enforcing quality standards and active process monitoring.
- Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data for the shift.
- Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products for the shift
- Bi-Lingual- Spanish and English preferred
- Manufacturing experience, exposure to aluminum industry is a plus.
- Promotes an environment where doing things safely is the highest priority.
- Ensures machine operators are properly trained and understand their expectations.
- Ensures quality of the product by enforcing documented process and quality inspection.
- Identify hazards in the workplace to eliminate or reduce risks as far as possible.
- Prepares shift operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
- Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
