Summary:

The Craft – Substation Technician – T&D works under general supervision and performs the work in the operation, construction, and maintenance of Electrical Substations and Battery Substations.

Requirements:

•

Performs general construction of electrical substations.

•

Completes underground and above ground conduits.

•

Installs underground grounding systems.

•

Installs steel structures, electrical substations, and battery substations.

•

Installs MV/HV switches and other electrical equipment.

•

Assists in the layout and concrete placement of drilled peers.

•

Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.

•

Presents, supports, and leads-by-example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude.

•

Installing ground grid.

Additional Responsibilities:

•

Presents, supports, and leads-by-example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude.

Safety:

•

Ensures that safety is the most important function, follows safe practices while working.

•

Reinforces safe behaviors and eliminates “at risk” behaviors.

•

Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.

•

Ensures Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s) occurs before scopes of work commence.

•

Adheres to and understands standard operating procedures.

•

Receives job- and task-specific training prior to work commencing.

•

Follows technical, quality and safety systems in place and determines appropriate action.

Qualifications:

•

High School Diploma/GED required.

•

1 or more years of experience working on electrical substations preferred.

•

Ability to travel domestically 5 to 15% required.

•

Operates equipment.

•

Places/Finishes concrete.

•

Installs AG/BG conduits.

•

Pulling control cable/general knowledge of terminating.

•

Erecting steel structures.

•

Functional competencies include attention to detail, communication, casting the right shadow, accountability, and ethics and integrity.

Anticipated base salary range: $30.00 - $34.00

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.

Per Diem of $100.00 daily to cover lodging, meals and travel during rotation.
