This role is critical to ensuring the reliability and secure operation of our grid by providing advanced support in the areas of SCADA systems, GE Reliance AEMS, power system applications, and Remedial Action Schemes (RAS). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical utility operations and a deep understanding of transmission system behavior and analysis.Key Responsibilities:
•Serve as a subject matter expert for GE Reliance AEMS configuration, maintenance, and performance optimization.
•Provide support and guidance for the operation and enhancement of electrical SCADA systems used in the utility's Energy Management System (EMS).
•Conduct transmission system network analysis to assess performance, stability, and security under various conditions.
•Support the development and deployment of power system applications, including contingency analysis, state estimation, and voltage/VAR control.
•Interpret and analyze real-time and simulated data, including MW, MVAr, voltage levels, and system loading.
•Develop, test, and validate Remedial Action Schemes (RAS) for grid reliability, ensuring correct operation in both TSM and DTS environments.
•Program RAS logic based on system conditions and contingencies in a Transmission Security Management (TSM) environment.
•Implement and simulate RAS behavior in a Dispatcher Training Simulator (DTS), ensuring alignment with design and operational goals.
•Understand and explain transformer operations, including the function and impact of tap changers (tap backs).
•Collaborate with System Operators, Protection Engineers, and Planning teams to ensure operational readiness and regulatory compliance.
