PTW is hiring a Structural Steel Estimator to join our team on site in our Calgary facility. If you have previous estimating experience and a background in steel or fabrication, we want to hear from you!

A DAY IN THE LIFE...

•

Prepares structural steel estimates and quantity take-offs from client and inhouse designs.

•

Prepares quotation letters.

•

Communicates and coordinates with sub-trades, and with internal departments including project management, purchasing, engineering, drafting, and manufacturing, to ensure that projects are accurately estimated.

•

Ensures that estimating-related correspondence and procedures are completed according to established guidelines.

•

Reviews client provided drawings and specifications for incorporation into the estimate.

•

Reviews the RFP/RFQ/RFI for proposal production and documentation guidelines.

•

Attends virtual and in person client meetings when required.

•

Complies with standards and procedures of PTW's health and safety manual and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

•

5+ years experience in structural estimating

•

Experience in structural fabrication or project management is an asset.

•

Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications quickly and accurately.

•

Strong working knowledge of structural codes and specifications.

•

Strong working knowledge of MS Office, including Outlook, Excel, Teams, and Word.

•

Exceptional time management skills; ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks quickly.

•

Adaptable with dynamic workloads and changing priorities.

•

Thrives well in a busy, deadline oriented work environment.

•

Must be able to take initiative, work independently as well as in a team.

•

Excellent organizational and communication skills.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

•

Must be authorized to work in Canada.

•

A valid Class 5 driver's license is required, as facility is not accessible by public transportation.
