Structural Fitter/Welder

Description:

JOB SUMMARY: It is the responsibility of this position to perform all welding tasks necessary to thermally join a structural weldment or non-code stamped vessel during assembly. The purpose of the position is to translate the engineering documentation into welded assemblies, using the materials and welding consumables provided, according to the qualified weld procedures, within the time allocated in the production schedule, and in accordance with GasTech Quality Requirements. It is the goal of the position to establish the GasTech Structural Department as the most highly respected process equipment welding group in the industries, and for the clients we serve.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

- Experience:

- Minimum 2 years of structural welding and fitting experience in a fabrication or industrial environment.

- Demonstrated ability to fit and assemble structural components using engineering documentation and layout tools.

- Technical Skills:

- Proficient in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding processes.

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings.

- Skilled in using measuring tools, layout equipment, and cutting tools (oxy-fuel, plasma).

- Familiarity with qualified weld procedures and GasTech Quality Requirements.

- Knowledge of non-code stamped vessel fabrication is a plus.

- Certifications:

- Welding certifications (AWS D1.1 or equivalent) preferred.

- Must pass GasTech’s welding performance test.

- Physical Requirements:

- Able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in various positions.

- Comfortable working in industrial environments with exposure to heat, noise, and confined spaces.

- Work Ethic & Safety:

- Strong commitment to quality, safety, and production timelines.

- Must have 100% attendance

- Must be able to work 5 - 10 hours shifts

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

- Must pass pre-employment drug screening and adhere to all safety protocols.
