Structural Draftsperson

PTW is looking for a Draftsperson to support our steel fabrication division. This is a full-time permanent position working on-site Monday-Friday. If you have previous experience with building envelope and self-frame buildings, we want to hear from you!

A Day in the Life... .

- Prepares approval drawings, shop fabrication drawings and erection drawings related to building envelope systems, including cladding, insulation, doors, windows, vapour barriers.

- Knowledge of building systems is essential for preparing accurate and comprehensive sections/details, material lists and shipping information.

- Prepares building envelope drawings issued for fabrication and field construction purposes in compliance with applicable building and/or structural code requirements.

- Communicates and co-ordinates with other disciplines including mechanical and electrical, internal project management, purchasing and manufacturing departments to provide accurate structural approval and detailed production drawings to ensure their requirements are incorporated in the structural drawings.

- Ensures as-built drawings are prepared.

- Provides assistance in the development and maintenance of standard structural practice for drafting and fabrication of structures.

- Complies with standards and procedures of PTW's health and safety manual and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.

Requirements:

- Diploma in Drafting Technology or a related field is considered an asset

- Possess a minimum of 5 years drafting experience.

- Knowledgeable in the use of AutoCad and TEKLA 2019-2025

- Have working knowledge of Canadian Building Codes and materials.

- Knowledge and experience in industrial and commercial buildings

- Knowledge and experience with self-frame buildings

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular Word, Excel and Outlook.

- Strong organizational skills.

- Highly self-motivated.

- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.

- A team oriented work approach with the ability to work independently.

Other Requirements:

- Must have own transportation as location is not accessible with public transportation.
