Steel Worker

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Steel Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and manufacturing, with hands-on experience in various welding techniques and fabrication processes. This role requires a commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Duties

- Perform fabrication on steel pipe according to specifications.

- Read and interpret instructions, schematics, and technical measurements.

- Utilize machinery such as press brake machines and plasma cutters for fabrication tasks.

- Operate forklifts safely to move materials around the construction site.

- Measure and cut materials using calipers, micrometers, and basic math skills to ensure precision.

- Follow ASME codes & standards to maintain compliance with industry regulations.

- Engage in rigging activities for lifting heavy components safely.

- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance.

- Collaborate with team members to achieve project goals while adhering to safety protocols.

Requirements

- Proven experience in construction site environments with a focus on steel work.

- Proficiency in MIG welding, TIG welding, FCAW, and other welding techniques.

- Familiarity with fabrication processes including machining, grooving, pipe threading, and assembly.

- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate various hand tools and power tools effectively.

- Experience reading work orders and schematics for accurate project execution.

- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) and standing for extended periods.

- Knowledge of safety practices related to welding and construction work environments.
