We’re looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support our day-to-day accounting operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys routine processes, has strong organizational skills, and wants to grow within a fast-expanding company. You will support AP, AR, month-end close, and cross-entity accounting functions that keep our financial operations running smoothly.
- Maintain AP email inbox; print, review, and digitally file incoming invoices.
- Open and scan AP mail; save invoices electronically.
- Scan and upload scale tickets to project folders.
- Match purchase orders and scale tickets to AP invoices.
- Enter AP invoices accurately and on time.
- Process vendor payments, prepare checks for mailing, and maintain organized filing.
- Complete vendor credit applications and maintain vendor records.
- Support customer invoicing and ensure timely, accurate billing.
- Perform AR collections and follow up on past-due accounts.
- Record bank deposits and complete bank runs when required.
- Assist with month-end close activities including accruals, reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules.
- Support financial reporting requirements and maintain accurate, organized records.
- Prepare LEED reports and assist with other compliance-related documentation.
- Execute daily accounting operations for additional entities, including invoicing, AP processing, intercompany activity, and month-end tasks.
- Maintain orderly financial records and documentation to support audits and internal reviews.
- Assist with process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy of accounting workflows.
- Collaborate with the accounting and operations teams to resolve questions or discrepancies.
- Provide backup support for other accounting team members during peak periods or absences.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).
- 1–3 years of accounting experience (AP, AR, or general accounting).
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles and standard accounting practices.
- Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Viewpoint, Sage, or similar).
- Strong proficiency in Excel and digital document management.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time-management skills.
