Description Position Title: SENIOR TECHNICAL PROJECT MANAGER
Location: HOUSTON, TX
FLSA Class: EXEMPT
Position Summary:We are looking for a highly motivate senior technology project manager with exceptional organization and communication skills to support technology construction activities across multiple data center’s power generation facilities.
You will be part of a small, but growing, team that is responsible for the installation of all technology-related infrastructure and components. You will be supporting all aspects of the design, construction, and commissioning process. You will have the opportunity to help define the standards, processes, and procedures for future projects.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Prioritizing safety in every aspect of the job.
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation, schedules, and tasks for multiple projects.
- Keep detailed records of issues, and their resolutions. Coordinate with the appropriate teams, vendors, contractors, etc. to resolve all open issues.
- Create and present progress reporting to project managers, stakeholders, and senior management.
- Develop and maintain strong contractor and vendor partnerships.
- Prepare, submit, and evaluate of RFIs and RFQs with vendors and subcontractors.
- Coordinate and communicate with general contractors and subcontractors handling low-voltage, networking, and communications work.
- Develop budgets, track expenses, and maintain detailed financial records for each project.
- Support all aspects of the purchasing process to make sure supplies and materials are delivered on time.
- Initiate new projects, ensuring scope and requirements are clearly defined and documented.- 10+ years of experience in project management, working as part of a team using different project management frameworks like Waterfall and Agile. Experience in power generation, utility, or heavy industrial project experience is a bonus. - 7+ years of experience working with project management tools like Jira, MS Project, etc.
- Achieved a PMP or other project management certification.
- 5+ years of experience working with vendors and contractors to maintaining long-term relationships.- Experience managing a portfolio of at least $10M.
- History of working with a safety-first mindset.
- Exceptional communication, time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- History of identifying, assessing, and monitoring project risks and issues. Ability to escalate and drive issues to completion, especially critical issues that affect project timelines and schedules.
- Experience developing schedules and identifying the critical path activities.
- Experience organizing, scheduling, and prioritizing work that meets various schedules and objectives.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed.
- Bonus: Knowledge about networking, telecommunications, or low voltage infrastructure. Familiarity with a broad range of technical areas including network cabling, server rack buildouts, fiber optics, access control, cameras, and ISP, LTE, or satellite communication systems.
