Responsible for leadership, organization, and execution of Power Delivery control center projects and continuous improvement initiatives supporting the Reliability Control Center (RCC) organization. Initial duties would include: “One Control Center” roadmap implementation ownership, Switching-Tagging-Clearance (STC) Review board facilitation, and business SMEs coordination on upcoming control center technology projects. Acts as the strong team leader driving project repeatability in the execution of all work within the portfolio. Maintains the single point of accountability for project success.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, oversight, and coordination of Power Delivery control center projects supporting the Reliability Control Center (RCC) organization.
- Develop, update, and implement the One Control Center roadmap; provide periodic progress updates to RCC leadership, engage cross-team and cross-functional resources on specific initiatives, and ensure key milestones are achieved.
- Facilitate the Switching-Tagging-Clearance Review board meetings; implement and enforce formal meeting structure, ensure work product timeliness and quality, and coordinate key performance metrics with Power Delivery leadership.
- Develop and manage project deliverables, budgets, and schedules for control center initiatives and special efforts.
- Engage with IT Service Delivery Managers by coordinating SMEs on business case development, cost estimation, and IT project prioritizations.
- Engage with supporting organizations for assistance, such as Learning & Development, Continuous Improvement, and Information Technology.
- Actively participates in electric transmission industry forums, working groups and tasks forces to both advocate for positions favorable to Entergy and ensure industry best practices are understood. Industry forums/organizations include but are not limited to EPRI, NERC, SERC, MISO and NATF.
- Create and sustain a safe work environment at operations control centers.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum education required of the positionBachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience. MBA preferred.
Minimum Experience Required Of The Position
Project Manager, Sr - 3-5 years’ experience in Operations Management or Project Management. 5 years of experience in design engineering, system planning, field Operations or construction.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required Of The Position
- Outstanding written and verbal skills including the ability to clearly communicate and express self well in groups and one on one conversations.
- The ability to influence others without direct authority such as the direct authority of a Supervisor.
- Understanding of Change, Configuration, and Risk Management principles and the ability to apply those principles desired.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint required. Proficiency in Microsoft Project desirable.
- A basic understanding of cyber security principles.
- Specific knowledge of Entergy’s Capital Project Standard preferred.
Any Certificates, Licenses, Etc. Required For The Position
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification desired.
