This is an exciting opportunity to join the Training Team at Locating Inc. as a Associate Technical Trainer supporting our Oregon and Washington areas. Locating, Inc, supports utility operators throughout America to prevent damages to their infrastructure. Reliably completing millions of locate requests each year assisting project owners and managers in achieving safer excavations and reducing damages to the underground infrastructure. We utilize modern technologies and skilled professionals to deliver timely, reliable, and accurate locate services to protect utility operators’ infrastructure throughout America. The Associate Technical Trainer reports directly to the Manager Technical Training. In this role, the ideal candidate will be highly organized with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, while delivering quality instruction to new Field Technicians along with experienced Field Technicians.
The Associate Technical Trainer will provide direct learning support and training delivery to our field technicians & Utility Line Locators primarily via an online platform along with field training. They will create learning experiences that support our business objectives and industry standards, using a variety of learning methodologies in partnership with UtiliQuest teams including Operations, HR, Safety, Fleet, Quality, Risk Management, and external Clients.

- Field Training Delivery: Conduct hands-on training sessions for field staff, covering topics such as utility mapping, equipment operation, safety procedures, and industry best practices.
- Mentorship and Support: Provide ongoing mentorship and support to field personnel, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Training Program Development: Collaborate with stakeholders to design, develop, and implement comprehensive training programs for field personnel involved in utility locating.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure that all field training activities adhere to safety regulations and compliance standards.
- Curriculum Enhancement: Continuously evaluate and update training materials to ensure alignment with industry standards, regulations, and emerging technologies.
- Performance Assessment: Implement assessment tools to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and individual performance, providing constructive feedback and recommendations for improvement.
- Collaboration: Work closely with operations and safety teams to identify training needs and address specific challenges in the field.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of training sessions, participant progress, and other relevant data. Generate reports to measure the impact of training initiatives.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends and emerging best practices in field training, and incorporate these into existing programs.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- One year or more of proven experience in utility locating or a similar field, with proven high quality results.
- Willingness to do overnight travel as needed. (up to 50%)
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to safety, both in terms of performance and attitude. Salary Range $26 - $30 / hr (based on experience)
