- Serve as a dedicated point person for the incident investigation program
- Collaborate with investigation teams and legal with investigations
- Track and monitor the completion of investigations company-wide (including Level 2 and Level 3 investigations)
- Review investigation reports to ensure adequacy, quality, and proper construction of root causes and action items
- Coordinate quarterly management incident investigation review meetings
- Act as a resource for investigations to all areas and provide assistance with training
- Have the ability to lead investigations when needed
Requirements: Education and/or experience, knowledge, skills & abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, etc.) preferred.
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 8 years of experience involving incident investigation or similar operations or technical experience.
- Strong understanding of incident investigation processes and methodologies
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to review and analyze investigation reports for quality and adequacy
- Proven track record of effectively leading investigations and driving improvement initiatives
- Certification in incident investigation or related field is a plus
Working Conditions: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
- Usually, normal office working conditions.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to periods of prolonged sitting or standing.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings which may include hazardous materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require personal protective equipment.
