This position conducts complex operational tasks to lead the electric operating districts in measuring and improving work performance in order to meet the division’s operational and financial objectives. This includes development and implementation of methods to measure work performance, foster cost savings, and improve efficiency. Ensures compliance with applicable policies, procedures and regulations. Operates with minimal supervision. May be required to work on special projects or to provide work direction and technical assistance to less experienced analysts.
Develops and recommends methods to measure work performance in each operating district
Coordinates with electric operating districts to ensure Operations, Maintenances, and Administrative General (OMAG) and Capital and Expenditures (CAPEX) for distribution and transmission work is efficiently scheduled and completed
Develops methods and processes to provide more accurate OMAG and CAPEX expenditure forecasts
Participates in the development of methods and processes to support the determination of unit cost
Coordinates the ongoing data collection and tracking of unit cost work
Coordinates and participates in major process improvement initiatives
Supports the electric operating districts in the development and submittal of Authorized Fund Expenditures (AFE)
Ensures the accuracy of data generated by the electric work and asset management processes
Understands and recommends changes to electric operations business processes and systems to improve efficiencies, accuracy, and customer service
Ensures all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understands and complies with all policies, codes and regulations applicable to position and company
Essential Education, Skills, and Environment
Education and Work Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering or related field and 6 or more years of experiences or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Advanced understanding of the business processes used in Electric Delivery for the design, installation, operation and maintenance of electrical facilities. Knowledge of NV Energy’s strategic plan, Electric Delivery’s objectives, as well as Company policies, procedures, and practices. Advanced knowledge of budget preparation, analysis and cost tracking. Demonstrated analytical skills to compile and analyze data and to recommend course of action. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently. Advanced leadership skills to direct the activities of individuals and/or teams toward the accomplishment of goals. Effective written and verbal communication skills to effectively present information and persuade opinion.
Equipment and Applications
Proficient with the use of personal computers including: spreadsheet, database, pivot tables, word processing, presentation applications and PeopleSoft. Proficient in the use of query tools for obtaining data from Oracle tables
Work Environment and Physical Demands
Must be able to travel within and outside the company’s service territory occasionally.
