The Senior Electrical Engineer will serve as a technical leader within the engineering team, responsible for designing and implementing advanced electrical systems for custom power distribution and control products. This role focuses on achieving best-in-class quality, optimizing cycle times, and reducing costs while ensuring compliance with client requirements, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines. You will act as a subject matter expert, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, manufacturing, and estimating teams to deliver innovative, high-quality solutions on time and within budget.

Schedule: Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm
- Lead and develop electrical designs for low- and medium-voltage power distribution systems, motor control centers, and custom control equipment, including arc flash protection systems.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on material selection, system architecture, and design concepts to ensure product integrity and client satisfaction.
- Partner with Mechanical Engineering, Building Design, Manufacturing, and Estimating teams to ensure designs are accurate, manufacturable, and cost-effective.
- Establish, maintain, and continuously improve electrical design processes to increase efficiency, reduce operational costs, and support innovation.
- Serve as the authority on UL standards, client specifications, and regional code compliance to ensure safety and regulatory adherence.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and designers, fostering technical growth and knowledge-sharing across the team.
- Support manufacturing and field service teams with technical troubleshooting, testing, and client witness activities.
- Identify and implement advanced tools, technologies, and design methodologies to keep the engineering department at the forefront of the industry.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Required.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.- 5+ years of electrical engineering design experience in marine, heavy industrial, or oil & gas industries, Required. - 3+ years of experience with electro-mechanical power system design, including low/medium voltage power distribution, motor control centers, controls integration, and arc flash protection, required.
- Proven success leading complex engineering projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of UL standards (UL-1558, UL-891, UL-67, UL-508, UL-845, UL-DLAH) and regional utility codes.
- Expertise in designing with PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Schneider, etc.), protective relays (Basler, Multiline, Sepam, Woodward, etc.), and communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet, Fiber Optic).
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical, EPlan, or Promis-e, plus familiarity with 3D design tools.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or AS400.
- Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering principles, power system design, and product lifecycle management.

- Strong communication skills: able to present complex technical concepts clearly to clients, executives, and cross-functional teams.
