SUMMARY:
The Senior Demand Planner is responsible for creating and maintaining a rolling 16-month demand forecast based on customer input, historical data, and market trends. This role ensures that forecasted demand aligns with production capacity and supports effective planning across the organization. Acting as a liaison between Sales, Customer Support, and Operations, the Demand Planner translates customer insights into accurate forecasts to guide production, inventory, and scheduling decisions.
- Build and maintain a rolling 16-month demand forecast in the ERP system based on customer input, historical order trends, and market insights.
- Lead the development of a long-range demand planning strategy that aligns with corporate growth objectives and market expansion initiatives.
- Partner with Commercial, Finance, and Operations leadership to translate business strategies into actionable demand forecasts.
- Identify, evaluate, and recommend forecasting tools, techniques, and process improvements to enhance forecast accuracy and planning efficiency.
- Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) and key driver of the SIOP (Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning) process across the organization.
- Lead monthly demand review meetings with Sales, Marketing, and Operations to align forecast, inventory, and capacity planning decisions.
- Represent Demand Planning in strategic initiatives such as product lifecycle planning, new product introductions, and customer segmentation.
- Drive scenario planning and predictive analytics efforts to model the impact of market shifts, customer behavior, and economic trends.
- Develop and maintain risk assessment models to proactively identify supply-demand imbalances and propose mitigation strategies.
- Mentor junior analysts or planners, informally leading cross-functional teams or special projects.
- Provide training and support to cross-functional stakeholders on forecasting tools, metrics, and planning principles.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree (MBA, MS in Supply Chain, or related field) preferred.
- 5–8 years of progressive experience in demand planning, supply chain, or business analytics, preferably in a complex manufacturing environment.
- Deep expertise in SIOP/S&OP processes, including KPI development and cross-functional facilitation.
- Demonstrated ability to influence executive-level stakeholders through data-driven insights and strategic planning.
- Strong proficiency in forecasting software, ERP systems (e.g., Infor, SAP), and advanced analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or Python).
- Proven experience leading projects or cross-functional initiatives with measurable business impact.
- Lean/Six Sigma or APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM, CSCP) highly preferred.
