Vermilion has an excellent opportunity for a District Maintenance Planner. Based in the Dawson Creek, BC area, this position will report to the Maintenance Foreman. The District Maintenance Planner is responsible for supporting the operations by implementing and administering a comprehensive and efficient preventative maintenance program. This includes developing job plans, establishing work schedules and coordinating the maintenance resources and activities. The successful candidate will have proven ability to be flexible and adapt to change.
What You Will Do
- Provide field based support, supervision and planning for maintenance activities on surface equipment i.e. oil treating and processing facilities, gas/liquid pipeline and gathering infrastructure, natural gas engines, natural gas compression, artificial lift equipment, electric motors, generators and control systems.
- Maintain a complete and up-to-date inventory of district facilities and equipment within the Asset Register (Infor EAM);
- Ensure that all assets are appropriately tagged, detailed, recorded, and ranked for criticality;
- Develop, assign, and administer a compliant preventative maintenance schedule for all inventoried equipment;
- Ensure all assets have appropriate maintenance strategies within the Asset Register (Infor EAM);
- Utilize prescribed maintenance practices, policies, procedures, and schedules for all equipment;
- Achieve reliability, planned maintenance compliance, operating cost, and HS&E targets as assigned;
- Ensure maintenance strategies meet regulatory requirements and industry best practices;
- Plan future maintenance work to reduce potential delays and maximize maintenance workforce “wrench time”;
- Develop work plans based upon work requests and field inspection;
- Lead annual facility turnarounds including detailed cost estimates, scheduling, work scope and vendor selection;
- Develop weekly schedule of approved and planned maintenance work to be executed the following week;
- Co-ordinate necessary resources with sufficient lead time prior to the start of the work to ensure resource availability;
- Monitor status and progress of all scheduled work and work in progress;
- Ensure deficiencies found during maintenance inspections are corrected in a timely manner;
- Update maintenance strategies based on changing regulations and inspection findings;
- Provide input to annual Opex & Capital maintenance budget, including facility turnarounds, major overhauls; and
- Ensure Contractors are approved for use and provide feedback regarding Contactor performance.
- Previous experience with rotating equipment (including gas compression) and / or Electrical with medium voltage motors, switchgear and strong electrical safety knowledge.
- Knowledgeable in AB and BC OH&S/ER requirements
- Trades Ticket would be an asset
- Experience in investigations of equipment failures and root cause analysis would be an asset
- Proven and demonstrated commitment to HSE expectations and requirements
