The Senior Associate, Lease Accounting, GL, and Fixed Assets will be responsible for establishing best practices related to the monthly close process and account reconciliation process to operate in an efficient and effective manner. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of activities including IFRS 16, US GAAP ASC 842, general ledger accounting, fixed assets related to leases and year-end audit preparation.
The Senior Associate collaborates closely with various Accounting and Finance teams, assists in ad hoc projects, and continuously works to improve the efficiency of accounting and reporting processes.
- Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close. Responsible for month end close activities related to lease accounting (RE-FX module - IFRS 16 and US GAAP ASC 842), general ledger and fixed asset accounting, including preparing standard and miscellaneous journal entries, account reconciliations, etc
- Responsible for overseeing setup of new leases for all RWECE entities in the lease accounting system (RE-FX) for both IFRS and US GAAP
- Analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
- Support internal and external audit activities, as appropriate
- Support special projects, as appropriate, with General Ledger, Financial Reporting, Tax, Structured Finance, Accounts Payable, Lease Management Team and Controlling
- Provide ad-hoc analysis as needed for internal customers and assist in special projects
Prepare monthly/quarterly lease analysis and lease reconciliation to be reviewed by management
- Bachelor’s degree, Accounting
- CPA license preferred, not required
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the energy industry or related field
- Familiar with IFRS and US GAAP
- Experience with ERP systems, SAP preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to manage customer relationships
- Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space
- Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams
- Strong leadership and communication, and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables
- Ability to multi-task, while working independently and as part of a team
- Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities
- Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds
- Responds well to direction, is easy to challenge and develop, and is coachable
- Is detail-oriented, has strong business acumen, and a sound understanding of business concepts
Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in Illinois or New York is $77,000 - $115,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. RWE considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s education & work experience, training & certifications, and key skills as well as market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
