Job Summary

- The Truck Driver is responsible for operating a truck to move material between plants, warehouses, facilities, docks, or the mine in a safe manner obeying all rules and regulations set forth by the Department of Transportation including maintaining a current valid Georgia Class A Driver’s License.

Essential Functions

- Operate truck in a safe and efficient manner.

- Performs pre-operational equipment checks and monitors truck performance and gauges during operation.

- Fuels and performs routine maintenance.

- Loads truck while staying in compliance with environmental and safety guidelines and regulations

- Utilizes hand tools to make minor equipment adjustments.

- Keeps areas clean and free of clutter.

- Follows all company, state and federal safety policies, rules and regulations rules and regulations.

- Must be able to read, comprehend, and act on SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), PWI (Process Work Instructions), AIQ processes, and similar documents.

- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Must act in accordance with WE CARE, participates in improvement activities.

- Operate other heavy equipment utilized at the plant and in the mine after proper, documented training (excavator, tractor, dozers, haul trucks, backhoes, front-end loader, etc.)

- Other actions as needed to satisfy company goals, process, and procedures to uphold values and inherent to Oil-Dri.

Experience

- Possess at least two years of driving experience.

- Possess clean DMV record—no points in last three years.

- Basic mechanical knowledge.

- Ability to operate and control all necessary equipment to perform job functions.

- Knowledge of hand tools.

- Class A Drivers license. Hazmat certification desirable.

- Ability to safely operate trucks and heavy equipment.

- Carry/lift 50lbs.

- Physical endurance to withstand heavy physical labor occasionally required of position.

- Must be able to function in the required role while wearing appropriate PPE including, but not limited to: Safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, dust mask, protective coveralls, and other as may be required by a hot/cold, dusty, loud industrial environment.

- Must meet all physical requirements of the position.

Hire Rate: 24.47 + $2.00 shift differential
