Your Impact

As a Specialist, Safety and Special Projects, you will provide leadership and structure for industrial hygiene, safety, environmental compliance, and emergency response at the MTF laboratory. Your work ensures a safe, compliant, and efficient environment while supporting metallurgical services through process optimization and project execution.

As Part of Our Team, You Will

- Monitor compliance with safety and environmental standards, including chemical hygiene programs.

- Conduct regular lab inspections and refine emergency response procedures.

- Coordinate training for staff on equipment, software, and safety protocols.

- Lead Management of Change (MOC) processes to ensure safe implementation of changes.

- Manage technical documentation systems and support business planning activities.

- Facilitate meetings and workshops (e.g., Health & Safety Committee, IT interface).

- Execute projects to improve lab safety and streamline technical operations.

Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Metallurgical Engineering, Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.

- Experience: Strong background in health and safety protocols, hazardous material handling, emergency response, and workflow optimization.

- Skills: Advanced proficiency in lab safety management, OSHA regulations, project coordination, and training delivery.

- Technology: Familiarity with LIMS, SAP, One View, SharePoint, Enablon, BPC, and MS Office tools.

- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

Your Work Environment

You’ll work in a technical laboratory setting, collaborating with internal teams (TS Processing, Corporate Health & Safety, IT, Supply Chain) and external stakeholders (vendors, regulatory agencies). The salary range offered for this role is USD $110,160-144,585. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
