About The Role

Newmont is seeking a Specialist, Contracts to join our Corporate Supply Chain team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing sourcing strategies, negotiating, and administering contracts within the Corporate office to support critical functions such as Sustainability & External Relations (S&ER), Human Resources, Technical Services, Project Services, and Project Studies. The Specialist will focus on maximizing value from indirect spend while ensuring alignment with overall Supply Chain objectives. The Specialist also provides mentorship, training, and governance to internal stakeholders on commercial contracting and Procure-to-Pay processes. Working closely with internal customers, this role helps define and execute requirements that optimize total cost, quality, service, and delivery performance.


Your Role Will Consist Of


Here’s a Snapshot Of Your Day-to-day Responsibilities

Develop and implement category and sourcing strategies aligned with global business objectives.
Negotiate and establish favorable commercial agreements, optimizing sourcing plans for maximum cost savings and value delivery.
Manage the full lifecycle of contracts, including negotiation, drafting, execution, administration of change orders and amendments, compliance, correspondence, and contract closeout.
Proactively manage strategic sourcing and contract planning with a focus on business value and total cost of ownership.
Serve as the key liaison between business planning, technical services, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with budget objectives and pricing guidance.
Build and manage strong supplier relationships and lead Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) programs to drive performance, continuous improvement, and innovation.
Lead supplier selection and engagement with a focus on safety, sustainability, and social performance.
Stay current on market conditions, risks, lead times, trends, and emerging technologies to incorporate insights into procurement planning.
Ensure all contracts comply with domestic and international tax, legal, and insurance requirements, coordinating revisions with subject matter experts.
Apply the Request-to-Pay Standard and Category Management frameworks, ensuring strong governance, compliance, and stakeholder alignment.
Identify and execute savings opportunities, support Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) initiatives, and manage non-compliance and reporting.

What We’re Looking For


Education And Experience

Undergraduate degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Accounting.
Strong expertise in strategic sourcing, portfolio management, supplier relationship management, and procurement best practices.


Technical Skills

Advanced skills in category management, sourcing strategies, supplier management, and financial analysis.
Proficiency in SAP/SAP Ariba and MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Experience using data analytics and dashboarding tools such as Power BI and Tableau is an asset.
Strong negotiation skills, including the ability to negotiate with C-Level/Executives.


Capabilities

Self-awareness, collaboration, and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.


Working Conditions

This position is based at Newmont’s Denver Corporate Office with a hybrid work model. Flexibility is required to support cross-regional collaboration across multiple time zones.

The salary range offered for this role is USD $110,160 -144,585. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.

This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
