Responsibilities
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:•Supply Fulfillment: Apply efforts to ensure the assigned operational sites have all the required supply and services. Work for the supply fulfillment is: completed at the expected timing, meet the requirements/specifications, has the cost optimized and has risks under control.
•Sourcing: Sourcing products/services where there is no catalog/national contract in place. Identify, recommend, and discuss preferred supplier options with internal operations customers; review requisitions for high value spend segments. Constantly pursue High Pay-Off Activities (HPA). Conduct RFP’s for both expense and capital projects and negotiate with suppliers to secure contracts.
•Tactical Buying: Responsible for direct catalog, contract PO, and blanket POs, contract and spot buying including back up support for p-card for assigned area. Provide support to operations finding required parts and services not identified in advance through our catalogs and contracts; gather competitive bids and alternatives. Setting up local contract catalogs.
•Contracting: Provide contract support to local operations in support of locally lead efforts. Review and negotiate proposals, contracts and credit applications for adverse terms and conditions.
•Procurement Process: Implement “Continuous Improvement” efforts that reduce touchpoints, rework, processing delays and downtime. Receive requests for goods or services, obtain necessary approvals, create PO’s and received goods/services, process invoices for payment.
•Cost Reduction: Monitor cost performance based on key metrics; identify opportunities for cost optimization; lead cost reduction projects to continuously improve the cost position of the assigned operations. Document savings with appropriate backup and explanation.
•Key Stakeholders: Work closely with key operational and functional support stakeholders and be the first point of contact; Follow up to ensure their issues are resolved, even if the action is delegated to others. Hold others accountable, even if you do not have positional authority.

Education, Experience, Skills Required:
•Education: BS Degree in a relevant area.
•Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in procurement leadership position(s) and computerized payables. Knowledge of procurement practices is required. Experience in self-directed roles with high customer centricity expectation. Knowledge of ready mix operations is a plus.
