Scalo Solar Solutions is seeking a Project Manager or Field Supervisor to lead the management, installation, and maintenance of photovoltaic systems across various commercial and residential, and projects. These roles demand a strong electrical background and expertise in solar energy systems.
Job Responsibilities:
Project Manager:Oversees all aspects of a solar project installation and maintenance, including but not limited to:
•Reviewing Contract Documents & Drawings
•Work in tandem with the engineer to update drawings as needed for permitting and as-built drawings
•Identify, procure & allocate all aspects of the project requirements including permits, materials, & labor to complete the installation
•Manage coordination between parties involved, including the client, engineer, architect, utility company, local authority having jurisdiction, inspectors, subcontractors, and office
•Effectively create a project schedule (GANTT) and revise weekly as appropriate to meet needs of project and create and maintain project notes and records for safe keeping
•Monitor project budgets and regularly evaluate production metrics
•Attend weekly operations meetings with Solar Vice President & General Manager
•Communicate relevant project information to the Client & the Company through weekly project meetings and reports
•Handle communications regarding maintenance of existing systems; allocate resources to correct issues with existing systems in a timely manner
•Monitor company owned systems regularly for performance; provide monthly production reports for billing purposes
•Attend monthly billing meetings
•Effectively apply and enforce Company standards, policies & procedures
Field Supervisor:
•Supervise field teams to lead safe and efficient solar photovoltaic installations and assist Forepersons with crew leadership
•Effectively manage all aspects of production to meet company and project goals
•Visit job sites daily to monitor crew progress
•Conduct or participate in daily safety audits
•Train field team members in safety, work skills and efficiency
•Provide ongoing feedback to the Forepersons regarding job performance
•Monitor quality of solar installations
•Maintain understanding of contract information for jobs
•Engage with customers to answer questions and provide explanations
•Schedule daily or weekly contact with customers to review progress
•Review plans and sites, delegate crews and do all pre-job planning including but not limited to creating site-specific safety plans and work plan efficiencies
•Ensure crews have information and instructions necessary to complete jobs
•Submit reports and paperwork and otherwise coordinate communication between office and job sites
•Investigate incidents, near misses, accidents, and thefts, and provide relevant documents, photos, and assessments to the office
•Monitor material usage, minimize waste, anticipate shortages, and order materials as needed
•Participate in final inspections from the required customers, manufacturers, consultants, government agencies, etc
•Effectively apply and enforce Company standards, policies, and procedures
Job Qualifications:
Project Manager:
•5+ years of electrical or solar specific construction experience, with a strong emphasis on electrical systems and commercial projects
•2+ years of project management experience, including the ability to manage project schedules, budgets, and client communications
Field Supervisor:
•2+ years of electrical or solar specific construction experience, with a strong emphasis on electrical systems and commercial projects
Both Positions:
•Must possess or be willing to acquire NABCEP PV Installation Professional Certification
•Possess a thorough understanding of the National Electric Code (NEC) and a willingness to take classes to continue educating oneself in changes to the NEC
•Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical wiring diagrams, and architectural plans
•Demonstrate ability to be hyper-organized, analytical, and a critical thinker, with experience in performance improvement
•Be self-motivated to not only complete the project autonomously, but to constantly improve their own performance and the performance of the company as a whole
•Must be willing to travel to jobsites, both local and occasionally remote locations
•Excellent communications & customer service skills, with experience in communicating with clients and teams in the field
•Employees must submit to criminal background check and drug screening
Physical Requirements:
•Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and use hands for various tasks
•Vision capabilities may include close vision
•Frequent climbing, bending, kneeling, and using hand tools and power tools
•Must perform essential job functions safely and consistently in accordance with ADA, FMLA, and other applicable standards
Salary:
Project Manager: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
Field Supervisor: $60,000.00 - $68,000.00 per year
