Job Summary:
As the Install Manager, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of our solar installation process, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will work closely with design engineers, sales, operations, and subcontractors to streamline processes and uphold the SolarSesame standard of excellence.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Design Review & Coordination
•Review solar system designs and coordinate with Electrical Engineers to request corrections or updates as needed.
Installation Planning & Execution
•Proactively plan for upcoming installs by coordinating resources, timelines, and materials.
•Ensure seamless communication between internal departments to guarantee readiness for scheduled installations.
Inventory & Procurement Management
•Manage warehouse inventory and material usage efficiently to keep cost-per-job within budget.
•Serve as the primary point of contact for procurement of installation equipment and Balance of System (BOS) materials.
•Optimize procurement workflows and vendor relationships to ensure timely and cost-effective supply chain operations.
Technical & Operational Liaison
•Act as the technical point of contact for both the sales and operations teams, helping to resolve issues and answer queries quickly and accurately.
•Collaborate with other departments to ensure clear communication on project scope, customer expectations, and timelines.
Subcontractor Oversight & Quality Control
•Supervise subcontractor crews to ensure installations meet SolarSesame's quality standards and specifications.
•Provide guidance and training to subcontractors on company protocols and industry best practices.
Vehicle & Fleet Management
•Oversee and maintain the vehicle fleet used for installations and service, ensuring they are safe, well-maintained, and cost-efficient.
Inspection & Service Team Management
•Manage inspection and service technicians, ensuring jobs pass inspections promptly and Permission to Operate (PTO) is achieved without delays.
•Monitor performance and provide technical support to inspection teams as needed.
•Ensure designs are accurate and compliant with local codes and utility requirements prior to scheduling installation.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
•3+ years of experience at a solar EPC.
•Strong knowledge of residential solar installation process, materials, and timelines.
•Experience with inventory and warehouse management.
•Ability to manage field teams and subcontractors effectively.
•Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
•Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Job Location: This role requires you to drive to our Hayward office every morning and you will have to travel to job sites frequently.
