About This Job

The Weekend SOC Operator of Strata’s Security Operations Center (SOC) is tasked with employing best practices to identify, analyze, and manage all incidents that may impact Strata Clean Energy, the brand, or employees. This is an excellent part-time position; weekend shifts will be 4pm to midnight. This role is a primary operator position for monitoring the company’s electronic surveillance systems that cover numerous large scale construction projects and energy production sites. This position will be responsible for monitoring cameras and alarms, dispatching calls via telephone and radio, operating access control technology, along with supporting the security team in preparing for, responding to, and recovering from both crisis and non-crisis incidents.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•

Manage and virtually respond appropriately to routine and emergency calls by performing notifications and dispatches of activated alarms and designated incidents, such as life-safety incidents (medical, safety, natural disasters, etc.) and events requiring the services of ERT, police, firefighters, and EMS personnel

•

Maintain daily activity log including records of communications and events, dispatching, tracking, and notification of persons visiting remote sites

•

Promptly notify and submit reports to the security team regarding incident reports related to crimes, injuries, activated alarms, etc.

•

Perform routine system checks to ensure all-access control, CCTV, and other security systems are working properly

•

Evaluate external incidents that may impact Strata employees or offices and escalate accordingly to security management

•

Use best practices to communicate and disseminate information to security management and key partners using established protocol and communication channels

•

Effectively manage and resolve sensitive situations while maintaining confidentiality and information security practices; such sensitive information may include by is not limited to personal employee issues, investigations, public relations incidents, or emergency personnel contact information

•

Recommend improvements and guidance to security management

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

•

First, second, and third shift weekend shifts available

•

High school diploma or equivalent required

•

Comfortable with high-tech work environment and ongoing learning of new tools and innovations

•

Excellent customer service skills and organizational and time-management ability

•

Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to read, write, and speak clearly in English

•

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

•

As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete a background investigation and a post-offer, preemployment drug test

•

Ability to multitask, stay calm, and give direction in a fast-paced and, at times, stressful work environment and effectively prioritize tasks

•

Flexibility to work all shifts and willingness to assist the team with overtime, when needed

•

Must possess a solid employment history that demonstrates dependability

•

Ability to analyze problems, identify causes, and implement results-oriented solutions

•

Ability to work independently while also being a team player

Preferred Skills, but not necessary:

•

Associate’s degree or 2+ years of equivalent work experience in the military, law enforcement, government, or corporate security

•

Prior experience in a security operations center or similar is highly preferred

•

Experience with security systems including alarm monitoring, electronic access control, and CCTV

•

Supervisory experience, ideally in a security role

Note: Current NC Guard Card is NOT required for this security position

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

•

Work is performed primarily in an office environment with some tasks assigned at outdoor solar plant sites.

•

Must be able to sit, stand or walk for the entire duration of a workday.
