JOB TITLE: Blocker/Packing Assistant

REPORTS TO: Department Manager with direction from Team Lead

SHIFT DAYS /HOURS: 1st Shift Position (6:45 AM – 6:45 PM) Rotating 2-on/2-off/every other weekend. Overtime may be required throughout the week

STARTING PAY: $20.96 per hour, with the ability to earn more.

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Shipping Packing Assistant/Blocker to join our team. As a Shipping Packing Assistant/Blocker, you will play a vital role in ensuring our products are packaged and shipped in a safe and efficient manner. This job requires great attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work well in a team environment. WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

•

Assist in the packaging of aluminum products for shipping, following established guidelines and procedures.

•

Ensure all packaging materials are properly stocked and readily available

•

Inspect and maintain packaging equipment, reporting any malfunctions or damage to the supervisor.

•

Collaborate with other team members to ensure accuracy and efficiency in the packaging process.

•

Label and document all packages accurately, including necessary shipping documents and labels.

•

Assist in loading and unloading shipments as needed

•

Perform quality control checks on packaged products to ensure they meet company standards.

•

Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and productivity.

•

Communicate any packaging issues or concerns to the supervisor in a timely manner.

•

Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.

•

Wear the required personal protective equipment.

•

Accept feedback from the Team Leader to ensure the loads are up to safety standards.

•

Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/ PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear

•

The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/ or move up to 30 pounds occasionally

•

Specific vision abilities required by this job included close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

•

Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the qualifications, knowledge, skill and/or ability required

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

•

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

•

High school diploma or equivalent.

•

Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.

•

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

•

Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 pounds w/ assistance.

•

Proficient in using packaging equipment and tools.

•

Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

•

Availability to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends as needed.

•

Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.

•

Must pass company background check and drug screen.
