Job Summary:
As a Shipping Supervisor, you will oversee the fulfillment of direct-to-consumer live insect orders. Your responsibilities will encompass all aspects of the shipping process, from assembling and filling boxes to ensuring timely and accurate delivery. Key Responsibilities:
•Order Processing: Accurately review and process incoming customer orders using our order management system.
•Packaging & Labeling: Safely package live insects and reptile products, ensuring compliance with established procedures and industry regulations. Properly label packages with correct shipping information.
•Quality Control: Conduct thorough quality checks to ensure all products meet high standards before shipping.
•Shipping Logistics: Select appropriate shipping methods based on customer requirements and ensure packages are ready for pickup by shipping carriers at scheduled times.
•Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring and maintaining inventory levels to avoid stockouts and shortages.
•Machinery Operation: Operate simple machinery to build insect shipping boxes.
•Quantification & Filling: Accurately quantify and fill packages with insects using established procedures.
•Workplace Maintenance: Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
•Project Management: Assist the Department Head in projects or tasks outside the scope of typical daily duties.
•Employee Supervision: Collaborate with Team Leads to maintain a productive and respectful environment to accomplish daily and weekly duties.
•Delegation & Training: Delegate duties and train employees effectively.
•HR Responsibilities: Initiate HR paperwork, safety policies, and disciplinary actions as necessary.
Qualifications:
•Experience: Minimum of 2 years in production, agriculture, packaging, or a closely related field; 2 years of progressive responsibility within a team environment.
•Technical Skills: Basic computer skills (email, Point-of-Sale systems, word processing).
•Language Skills: Ability to read and write in English; bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
•Safety Compliance: Adherence to all safety and security procedures.
•Learning Ability: Capacity to learn new techniques, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.
•Teamwork: Ability to work well in both a team-based environment and with limited supervision.
•Leadership: Ability to provide daily guidance to a crew of 20 and work cooperatively with others to accomplish farm goals.
•Communication: Clear and effective communication skills.
•Supportive Role: Ability to provide support and assistance to the Manager/Department Head in all aspects of normal operation.
•Task Prioritization: Ability to prioritize daily tasks with minimal supervision.
•Environmental Adaptability: Ability to work in hot and humid conditions.
Physical Requirements:
•Ability to stand for long periods and work in hot and humid environments.
•Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs with minimal assistance.
Additional Requirements:
•Must be punctual and have reliable transportation.
•Must be comfortable working with and handling live insects.

Pay: $20.00 per hour
