The Shipping and Receiving / Driver position is essential for ensuring the efficient movement of goods within and outside the manufacturing facility. The role involves handling all aspects of shipping and receiving, as well as operating company vehicles to deliver products to customers and suppliers. The position requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to safety and compliance.
- Prepare and package products for shipment to customers and other facilities.
- Generate and print shipping labels, packing lists, and Bills of Lading (BOL).
- Verify the accuracy of outgoing shipments against order invoices and delivery notes.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area

- Inspect and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists.
- Unload and unpack incoming shipments, checking for damage or discrepancies.
- Record and update inventory levels in the inventory management system.
- Report and document any issues with received goods to the procurement or quality control department.
- Store received items in designated warehouse locations.
- Safely operate company vehicles to deliver products to customers and pick up materials from suppliers.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods according to schedule.
- Maintain vehicle logs and perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving.
- Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams regarding delivery status and any issues.
- Fully inspect all packages picked up from suppliers, ensuring they match the BOL and are free of any discrepancies or damage.
- Receive and document all picked-up packages in the inventory management system upon return.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and cycle counts to maintain accurate stock levels.
- Assist in maintaining an organized and efficient warehouse layout.
- Ensure inventory management systems are updated promptly with accurate information.
- Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures to manage inventory rotation.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks (certification preferred).
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as production and quality control, to resolve any issues related to shipping, receiving, or deliveries.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay updated on best practices and safety protocols.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements, including OSHA regulations.
- Report any safety hazards, incidents, or violations to the Warehouse Manager immediately.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A clean driving record.
- Prior experience in shipping and receiving, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift and move heavy packages and materials.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and warehouse software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment and obtain necessary certifications (e.g., forklift certification).
- Warehouse and manufacturing environment with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
- Physical demands include lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Time spent driving company vehicles to various locations.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move items up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Frequent bending, stooping, and standing for prolonged periods.
- Ability to push and pull heavy loads using manual or powered equipment.
- Dexterity to operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
