Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Sheet Metal Foreman to oversee sheet metal fabrication and installation projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sheet metal work, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards. The Sheet Metal Foreman will coordinate the work of a team of skilled sheet metal workers and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
•Lead, supervise, and coordinate the activities of a team of sheet metal workers, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety protocols.
•Interpret and analyze blueprints, project plans, and specifications to determine project requirements and timelines.
•Assign tasks to team members based on skill levels and project demands, providing guidance and support as needed.
•Oversee the fabrication, assembly, and installation of various sheet metal components, including ductwork, roofing, and custom fabrications.
•Conduct regular inspections of work sites to ensure compliance with safety regulations and project specifications.
•Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other trades to ensure seamless workflow and communication between teams.
•Train and mentor new employees in sheet metal techniques, safety practices, and company policies.
•Monitor inventory levels of materials and supplies, placing orders when necessary to prevent project delays.
•Address any issues that arise during the construction process, offering solutions and making decisions to keep projects on track.
•Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and project hours.
Qualifications:
•High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in sheet metal work preferred.
•Minimum of 5 years of experience in the sheet metal trade, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
•Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
•Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication techniques and installation methods.
•Proven ability to manage a team effectively and ensure high-quality workmanship.
•Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
•Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop positive working relationships with team members and clients.
•Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; ability to travel to job sites as required.
•OSHA certification or equivalent safety training preferred.
