Position Summary
A career in the Treasury group at South Jersey Industries offers exposure to cashflow forecasting, capital planning, debt servicing, and cash management. The Treasury team collaborates closely with the Treasurer, CFO, and other senior leaders, as wells as key external partners like investment banks, rating agencies, and regulators. This role provides opportunities to contribute to strategic initiatives in our growing, clean energy company. The ideal candidate is an experienced professional with a strong understanding of treasury functions and a self-starting, intellectually curious problem-solver. Essential Functions:
Cash management:
•Monitor and analyze the company’s daily cash position to ensure coverage of cash commitments and optimize short-term borrowings or investments.
•Assist in executing standby letters of credit, surety bonds, and similar financial instruments.
•Contact bank representatives to resolve issues related to payments, interest rates, account establishment, bank charges, etc.
•Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports on the cash position.
Cash forecasting:
•Collaborate with the company’s business units to prepare weekly, monthly, and annual cash forecasts and other cash and borrowing projection models.
•Coordinate with teams to identify and mitigate forecasting variances.
Bank account management:
•Assist in maintaining banking records and legal documentation, including updating signers, and SOX- and FBAR-related documentation.
•Support bank account administration, including adding, deleting, or modifying users and approvers.
Reporting and Compliance:
•Monitor cash management activities to ensure compliance with controls.
•Provide information for external audits, internal audits and regulatory reporting.
•Assist other departments (e.g., Internal Audit, Accounting, Rates, etc.) with quarter-end and ad hoc information requests as needed.
Other Responsibilities:
•Develop, monitor and analyze bank and rating agency fees.
•Implement process improvement initiatives to enhance Treasury operations, collaborating with other teams as needed.
•Assist with presentation materials for investors, rating agencies, or the Board of Directors as necessary.
•Create reports to monitor the company's capital structure, including debt and equity ratios and rating agency metrics as needed.
•Perform other tasks as necessary.
Required Skills:
•Strong Excel skills and proficiency with PowerPoint and Power BI.
•Proficiency with other analytical/statistical software, e.g., Python, R, etc., is a plus.
•Strong analytical skills: The ability to evaluate complex situations, identify patterns, and make connections between different pieces of information. This involves questioning assumptions, considering various perspectives, and making informed decisions based on evidence.
•Exceptional problem-solving skills: The capability to approach problems methodically, break them down into manageable parts, and develop effective solutions. This involves identifying the root cause of issues and implementing strategies to address them.
•Detail-oriented and well-organized, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
•Demonstrated ability to implement process changes and drive improvements.
•Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence internal and external teams to resolve issues and achieve goals.
•Ability to quickly understand complex transactions.
•Knowledge of the banking industry and technical knowledge of bank products.
•Ability to apply finance and treasury principles.
Preferred Skills:
•MBA and/or CTP accreditation, a plus.
Qualifications
Required Background:
•Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field with five years of experience in Finance and/or Treasury, or;
•Master’s degree in business, Finance, or a related field with three years of experience in Finance and/or Treasury.
•Additional relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Compensation Range:
$69,000 - 110,400
We are committed to pay transparency and ensuring equitability compensation for all employees. The pay range for this position reflects the base salary only and does not include benefits, bonuses, or other forms of compensation that might be part of the total compensation package. The specific salary offered will be based on a candidate’s qualifications, education, and experience.
