Overview:

We are seeking a highly technical and detail-oriented Manager/Director of Tax to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for a CPA with deep technical expertise in accounting standards, financial reporting, compliance, and regulatory matters. Unlike traditional leadership positions, this role focuses purely on technical excellence — business development and client acquisition are not required.

Key Responsibilities:

•

Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and evolving accounting regulations.

•

Provide technical accounting guidance and support to engagement teams across a variety of industries.

•

Research complex accounting issues and draft well-supported technical memos and position papers.

•

Review and oversee the preparation of financial statements and disclosures to ensure full compliance with regulatory standards.

•

Assist in the interpretation and implementation of new accounting pronouncements.

•

Consult on accounting matters related to mergers & acquisitions, restructurings, revenue recognition, leasing, and other technical areas.

•

Conduct technical training sessions and continuing education for internal staff.

•

Collaborate closely with Partners and Senior Managers to uphold the firm's standards of technical quality.

•

Support the firm's quality control and assurance functions, including peer reviews and technical file inspections.

•

Stay updated on emerging accounting, auditing, and regulatory trends and inform leadership of potential impacts.

Qualifications:

•

CPA license (active and in good standing) required.

•

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Master’s degree preferred.

•

8+ years of public accounting experience, ideally at a mid-size or large CPA firm.

•

Expert-level understanding of U.S. GAAP, GAAS, and SEC regulations.

•

Strong technical research, writing, and presentation skills.

•

Highly detail-oriented with a passion for accuracy and compliance.

•

Collaborative and consultative mindset; enjoys mentoring and supporting audit and accounting teams.

•

Ability to manage multiple technical projects and meet deadlines without direct business development responsibilities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $125,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
