Summary:
The Sr. Quality Engineer will be responsible for supporting, developing, implementing, and verifying products and processes related to internal and external quality requirements. Work in conjunction with Process Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations to drive continuous improvement and ensure quality objectives are met. Ensure product/process conformity to internal, customer, supplier, and third-party quality system requirements.
Role and Responsibilities:
•Lead the continuous improvement of inspection equipment and processes
•Lead actions and projects for proactive and responsive correction/improvement of products and processes
•Support the Material Review Board (MRB), which includes providing input and coordination of activities for the investigation and disposition of non-conforming products and components
•Support the Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) system, including reviewing investigations, tracking, and responding to metrics, and working with CAPA owners to ensure timely and effective CAPA implementation
•Assist with ensuring organization-wide understanding of the CAPA process and procedures
•Maintain compliance with AS9100 certification
•Document work processes and support training functions
•Perform regularly scheduled calibration of measuring and test equipment using the Calibration Tracking software in accordance with SOPs and ISO regulations
•Support development and implementation of procedures for measurement system analysis, Test Method Validation, and Critical-to-Quality Attribute (CQA) assessment
•Support various Quality Management System (QMS) improvement initiatives
•Perform and/or participate in quality audits (both internal and third-party)
•Review and disposition First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and ensure that product meets factory and customer requirements
•Revise procedures as needed based on nonconforming material investigations, CAPA, customer complaints, and continuous improvement projects (CIP)
•Participate as a member of the FMEA team
Skills and Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, etc.) required
•Minimum 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance or related field such as Process Engineering or Product Engineering
•Working knowledge of mechanical drawings (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing - GD&T)
•Internal and external QMS audit experience
•Ability to analyze, identify, and solve problems
•Strong communication and interpersonal skills
•Customer service, quality, and safety oriented
