Your contribution!
Reporting to the Director – Advanced Development, you will play a key role in the development of hydro, wind, solar, and storage projects. You will be fully responsible for leading a project from end to end, assuming full coordination and demonstrating leadership across all dimensions – from the signing of the power purchase agreement to commissioning. You will orchestrate all aspects of the project, including land, regulatory, environmental, partnership, and social acceptability components, to deliver a project that is well rooted in its host territory, socially accepted, technically sound, and financially viable.
Your day-to-day!•Lead all stages of project development: scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and coordination of internal and external stakeholders.
•Manage the environmental assessment process, coordinate studies with consultants, and secure all required permits (municipal, provincial, federal).
•Develop and implement strategies for community consultation and engagement. Organize and lead public information sessions. Build trust-based relationships with stakeholders.
•Oversee the acquisition, control, and management of land required for projects. Manage relationships with landowners, local partners, and Indigenous communities where applicable.
•Take responsibility for structuring and managing business partnerships with local project partners, ensuring successful collaboration during both advanced development and construction phases.
•Collaborate in the development of interconnection strategies and engage with relevant authorities.
•Ensure a smooth hand-off to the Construction team while maintaining responsibility for all development aspects through to project commissioning (land, permits, community relations, environmental compliance during construction, and partnerships).
•Provide post-commissioning support for any ongoing environmental or social matters.
•Closely track project progress and report to management. Maintain open and proactive communication with all stakeholders.
Your skills, our requirements!
•University degree in engineering, environmental studies, urban planning, social sciences, or a related field.
•Over 5 years of experience in project development, ideally in the renewable energy sector.
•Proven experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects in regulated environments.
•Strong understanding of environmental, land use, and social issues related to energy projects.
•Demonstrated leadership, political acumen, sound judgment, and excellent communication and negotiation skills.
•Experience in partnership management, contract drafting and negotiation is an asset.
•Ability to adapt in a dynamic environment, manage multiple priorities, and navigate diverse contexts (urban, rural, Indigenous).
•Willingness to travel across Canada and North America (approximately 30%).
•Bilingualism (French and English, written and spoken) is required to ensure collaboration with different stakeholders outside of Québec on a regular basis.

•The position is based in the company's Longueuil (Quebec) headquarters, steps away from the Longueuil-Université de Sherbrooke metro station.
•This position is a P4 level.
