Position Summary:

Refinery Value Chain Optimization is seeking a motivated employee with interest in performing gasoline blending for the GVL refinery, while working closely with business partners to identify and advance optimization opportunities. This position works across organizations, including but not limited to MPLX, Commercial Scheduling, Commercial Planning & Optimization, and Refinery Products Control.

Key Responsibilities:

Creates recipes for on-spec gasoline for GVL production.
Creatively manages constraints of sales, components and economics to maximize value of production; up to 400 MBPD.
Understands economics that are needle movers associated with refinery scheduling responsibilities.
Coordinates with key stakeholders to maximize feedstock and product value; including minimizing giveaway on octane and RVP.
Identifies and executes value opportunities in coordinating role via understanding of key drivers in refinery LP (PIMS)
On call around the clock to respond to unexpected events, making contingency arrangements to minimize disruption of supply and minimize refinery impacts.
Actively works with tank farm and refinery operations to ensure understanding of logistic and economic planning.
Proficient or able to be proficient in APS scheduling and MBO blending software; uses APS in daily job tasks. Proficient or able to be proficient in other supporting software to manage dock utilization, product certification, etc.
Desire to learn LP modelling via PIMS preferred.
Works with Tech Service and PCG to optimize operation of PBO.
Sets and achieves own goals associated with tool improvement, refinery optimization, and product coordination.
Manages scheduling and coordinating responsibilities independently. Able to build relationships with refinery and Commercial stakeholders.
Executes new business processes and improves existing processes to reduce risk, improve performance, and add value.
Executes efficiency upgrades to work processes for their respective area.
Provides backup coverage to at least one product coordinator position.
Understands financial implications of supply coordination across multiple desks.
Proactively identifies and communicates commercial / operational optimization opportunities that improve area’s financial disposition.


Education and Experience:


Senior Product Coordinator

A Bachelor’s degree OR a High School Diploma with 5 years’ experience in feedstocks or refined products coordinating or proven execution of ability in refining and marketing/petrochemical industry in lieu. (Education must be obtained/completed prior to start date)
Seven (7) years of experience in crude oil/refined products coordinating experience or proven execution of equal ability in refining and marketing/petrochemical industry.


Lead Product Coordinator

A Bachelor’s degree OR a High School Diploma with 5 years’ experience in feedstocks or refined products coordinating or proven execution of ability in refining and marketing/petrochemical industry in lieu. (Education must be obtained/completed prior to start date)
Ten (10) or more years of experience in crude oil/refined products scheduling experience or proven execution of equal ability in refining and marketing/petrochemical industry preferred. Experience or clearly demonstrates leadership proficiency within Scheduling
