Coeur Mining is a U.S.-based, well-diversified, growing, precious metals producer with four wholly-owned operations: the Palmarejo gold-silver complex in Mexico, the Rochester silver-gold mine in Nevada, the Kensington gold mine in Alaska and the Wharf gold mine in South Dakota. In addition, the Company wholly-owns the Silvertip silver-zinc-lead exploration project in British Columbia.

Coeur Wharf is an open-pit, heap-leach gold operation and the only gold mine operating in South Dakota. Located in the northern Black Hills, Wharf is the only known operating mine that shares a hillside with a ski resort, Terry Peak.

About the Job:

Senior Mine Engineer (Coeur Mining, Inc.; Lovelock, NV): Apply engineering expertise to plan long-range mining operations. Utilize computer applications for mine design, modeling, mapping, and monitoring mine conditions. Track actual mining progress against planned production. Complete short-term mining plans to keep operations within budget and long-term plan. Develop weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual mine and waste storage plans. Coordinate with Operations, Geology, and Survey groups to implement weekly and monthly mining plans. Plan and coordinate moderately complex mining projects, including estimation of capital and operating costs, design optimization, and mine infrastructure changes. Work with Maintenance and Purchasing departments to provide mining engineering expertise, and improve cost optimization. 40 hours per week, M-F (9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.).

Requirements:

- Must have a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related field, and 5 year of post‐bachelor’s, progressive related work experience.

- Of the required experience, must have 3 years of experience with the following: Mine planning for open pit operations; Using mine planning software including Vulcan or Deswik; AutoCAD; Using spreadsheet programs, including Microsoft Excel; Application of mine methods; and Estimation and monitoring of mining costs and productivity.

- Telecommuting permitted up to 1 day a week, depending on business need.

- Travel to various locations throughout the US required up to 5%.
