Salary Range: $125,766.00 to $157,208.00

Job Summary

JOB SUMMARY:

Scope of Work - Main duties, settings, geography, reporting relationships, other relationships:

Member of Operational Smart Grids (OSG) Telecommunications team. Works collaboratively with OSG Engineering, the OSG Network Management Center, and business areas to provide safe, reliable and cost-effective telecommunication services to the organization. Specifically manages technical resources responsible for the implementation and on-going maintenance of the OSG telecommunications environment. Manages the implementation of telecommunication related projects. Responsible for field resources across AVANGRID Networks, including: CMP, RGE, NYSEG, and UI

Key Responsibilities

•

Manages technical staff and contractors responsible for geographically dispersed telecommunications network.

•

Manages the field implementation of designs for telecommunication transport solutions of significant size and complexity. Contributes to the planning of project activities; reviews designs and assists with the preparation of cost estimates, both preliminary and detailed; solicits and reviews proposal from vendors, coordinates the requisitioning and delivery coordination of materials and services to meet schedules.

Manages Capital, Operating budgets, and vendor contracts.

•

Manages a team responsible for providing 24x7x365 support for the OSG Telecommunications network across the Avangrid Networks service territory. Prepares business continuity and storm restoration plans, ensure readiness of staff and materials, and directs team activities when called upon.

Ensures compliance with ANSI, NEC, IEEE standards, architecture and protocol standards, NERC, the

Company’s Safety Instructions, corporate accounting requirements, and collective bargaining unit craft work rules applying to telecommunications projects.

•

Provides client consultation and demonstrates the ability to effectively define and communicate problems, options, and recommended solutions.

•

Conducts inspection and coordination of telecommunications systems installations.

Required Qualifications

•

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, or combination of education and equivalent work experience.

•

At least 7 years of related experience in a telecommunications field environment.

•

Experience managing/supervising teams responsible for telecommunication system (Fiber, SONET, Microwave and Radio networks) and AMI.

•

Prior experience managing technical staff preferred.

•

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to promote trust and collaboration.

Strong problem solving, analytical and decision-making skills.

•

Strong cost and financial analysis skills.
