About the Job:
We are seeking a Senior Long Range Mine Planning Engineer for our Rochester operation near Lovelock, NV. This position will report to the Engineering Superintendent. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for open pit long range mine planning and design. This position will require company-supported relocation to Northern Nevada to work 4 days on, 3 days off schedule on-site at Coeur Rochester near Lovelock, NV
Responsibilities:
•Maintain a safe, healthy and clean environment by ensuring Coeur’s values and standards are present in all aspects of work execution
•Lead, optimize, and develop long range mine plans and design updates for budget and strategic planning cycles
•Perform annual updates for mineral reserve declarations and produce supporting information
•Provide technical direction for the mine related to operational strategy and implementation
•Identify risks to long range mine plans and investigate and develop mitigation plans
•Calculate unit cost assumptions, assist with infrastructure design and planning, update mine plan equipment fleet requirements, and conduct economic analyses of mine plans
•Working closely with mining operations to develop achievable mine plans and set performance targets and with maintenance and accounting departments to provide engineering expertise and improve cost optimization
•Provide technical support and expertise to short range planning, mid-range planning, ensuring integrated and deliverable plans across all time horizons
•Periodically audit design and planning processes and propose improvements to remain current with industry leading practices
•Assist with internal and external audits for mineral reserves and corporate engineering standards
•Support the preparation of Technical Report updates in accordance with SK-1300 guidelines
•Integrate with and maintain close relationships with teams across the mine site to ensure the plans are informed and executable.

Required Qualifications & Skills:
•Ability to work safely and promote safe behavior in others
•Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Mine Engineering or related engineering discipline
•Minimum 5 years of experience in open pit hard rock mining with an emphasis in mine planning
•Professional designation as a Qualified Person preferred (PE, SME RM, etc.)
•High level of proficiency in mine design and scheduling software (Deswik GO preferred)
•Ability to work effectively as part of a team effort as well as individually
•Ability to individually research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions
•Ability to conduct financial, economic, and cost analyses
•Strong verbal, written, analytical and communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management
•Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
•Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
