Job Summary

Senior Landman position requiring minimal supervision, a strong proactive approach, and utmost degree of independence, professionalism, and dependability with advanced supervisory, leadership, negotiating, communication, organizational, and attention to detail skills and a comprehensive understanding of land, legal, and oil & gas industry principles, processes, and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities

•

Responsible for conducting all land work to include obtaining and evaluating land data (i.e., records, titles, abstracts, etc.) on the availability of land and/or leases for acquisition, development, and/or divestiture.

•

Secures the examinations of titles, resolves defects, and settles damage claims.

•

May be responsible for making recommendations on dry hole contributions, farm-ins, farm-outs, and other exploration activities, as well as maintaining producing leases and co-owner relationships.

•

Ability to represent the company at land/lease sales.

•

Under minimal supervision, plans and conducts assignments.

•

May have responsibility for whole projects or complex assignments involving problem diagnosis and/or development of innovative solutions.

•

Other duties as assigned.

Has good knowledge of Federal and State regulations. Able to comfortably work with “sophisticated” lease forms and complex lease provisions.

Required Qualifications

•

Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Land Management, Energy Management, Business Administration, Law, or a related discipline.

•

Minimum of eight (8) years of experience as a Landman.

•

An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test.

Preferred Qualifications

•

Experienced in Texas Regulatory Environment.

•

Permian Basin commercial expertise.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

•

Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, and stooping.

•

Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.

•

Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
