· Based in Medicine Hat, Alberta (5018 Township Road 102, Cypress County, AB T1B 0K8).
· May travel to Kamloops, British Columbia; Amherst, Nova Scotia; Toronto, Peterborough, Mount Forest, and Erie Shores, Ontario.
· Travel expenses are covered by the employer.
· Work will be 75% in Medicine Hat, 25% site audits and travel.

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field required, with completion of a the National Construction Safety Officer designation and CSA 462:24 Workplace Electrical Safety. Willing to obtain CSP/CRSP (Certified Safety Professionals/Canadian Registered Safety Professionals).
Computer and technology knowledge: Microsoft Office, Adobe Captivate, Familiar with HSE software modules

· Implement and support Capstone’s Health & Safety (H&S) management system to ensure compliance with applicable legislation, regulations, and codes across all operations and assets.
· Report to the Capstone Corporate HS Manager and collaborate with the Environment & Sustainability Manager.
· Support operations by working closely with Plant Managers to maintain compliance with H&S systems and legislation.
· Actively contribute to fostering a positive safety culture and achieving Target Zero.
· Facilitate and participate in annual risk register reviews; assist in the development of risk registers for business units.
· Assist in the development and auditing of electrical safety programs, including high-voltage systems (e.g., transformers, substations).
· Conduct formal HSE inspections at operating assets and construction projects:
· Participate in incident investigations (ICAM); assist in report completion and ensure contractors submit timely reports and near-misses.
· Use safety management software to ensure sites are tracking and resolving:
· Ensure compliance by employees, contractors, and subcontractors with all federal, provincial, and internal HSE requirements.
· Attend and participate in safety meetings, providing guidance as needed.
· Assist in planning, developing, and reviewing task-specific Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs); maintain a JHA library for the organization.
· Support site managers in the contractor management process:
· Monitor contractor HSE performance and compliance with site policies, rules, and contract HSE terms.
· Monitor site KPIs and provide monthly and quarterly HSE reports to Capstone’s head office.
· Conduct new employee and contractor HSE Orientation Training; support supervisors during onboarding.
· Coordinate investigation, documentation, and corrective actions for safety non-conformances, near misses, or incidents.
· Assess safe work task performance through audits, inspections, and observations.
· Develop and conduct HSE training as required.
